Crestwood is a diverse neighborhood with a true community feel located minutes from Downtown, just east of Avondale. Long considered one of Birmingham's most desired neighborhoods, residents often organize block parties, pot luck dinners and activities at the recently renovated Crestwood Park. Tree lined streets and a variety of historic home styles are enticing to young adults and new families. Crestwood is geographically divided by Crestwood Boulevard into North Crestwood and South Crestwood. Houses on the north side were mostly built in the early 1900s and the most prevalent architectural style is the Craftsman Bungalow. Houses on the South side were generally built in the 1950s and 1960s and the American Ranch is the most common style found.
